Marathon Racing At Its BEst!

The Jacks Ridge Triple X Cross Country Mountain Bike Marathon is one of those must do events on the mountain bike calendar. It’s grass roots club racing at its best!

Riders can choose to race in either the 100km or 50km distances, and there are both solo and team categories.

The track length is 10km - 100km riders will do 10 laps and 50k riders will do 5 laps.

For those racing in teams, members will need to compete roughly the same or similar numbers of laps to make up the required distance.

Rider etiquette

  • Be courteous and respectful to other riders and to event volunteers.
  • If you come upon a slower rider, ask to pass when safe to do so and wait until the slower rider pulls over to let you pass. Advise the slower rider if there is more than one rider to pass.
  • If you are the slower rider only pull over when it is safe to do so
  • There are several places on course with A (advanced) and B  (basic) ride lines, these are located on the various timber structures on the course. Riders on the A line have right of way, and riders on the B line MUST give way.

Incidents/First Aid

  • In the event of an accident the first rider on the scene should stop and check if the rider needs help – if yes, call immediately for assistance, then stay with the victim. A second rider should go for help. If there are additional riders with medical/first aid experience they should stay with victim also.
  • Official First Aid personnel are located in the event centre. If you require first aid please let an event volunteer know, or approach the First Aid station located next to the race trailer in the car park.
  • Mobile phones – reception is generally good throughout the course. We advise you to have your phone with you on course, with volume up in case you need to be contacted.
  • Ensure you have the numbers of the Commissaire and Race Director in your contacts and/or that you have a photo of the contacts on our phone. Mobile numbers of the Race Director and Commissaire will be displayed at the sign on table.

Technical briefing

  • Number plates should be affixed over your cabling so they are clearly visible
  • Mechanical repairs that are carried out on the track can only be done by the rider.
  • Assistance with repairs is allowed in the allocated mechanical repair zone, which will be next to the feed zone.
  • Changing bikes is only permitted in the transition zone, not on the track
  • If you withdraw from the race please inform the official timers.
  • All competitors may keep their race plate if they wish, or return to be re-used.

Adverse Weather Conditions

We may elect to remove certain sections of the trail if we deem them unridable or they pose a risk to our riders.  This decision will be communicated in our rider briefing on the day of the event.  Where possible fire roads will be substituted or a short start lap maybe included to maintain the target distances.

Cancellations

In the event of wet weather the race may be postponed. If it’s clearly going to be too wet we will make the call by 9pm on Friday 05 June 2026, if unclear then we will call it by 2pm on Saturday 06 June 2026. A full refund will be offered for those unable to attend the re-scheduled event.
